Job summary

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking an Instrument Processing Technician to inspect, clean, assemble and sterilize surgical instrument sets, and to operate cleaning and sterilization equipment. Prepare supplies for steam and low-temperature sterilization to support patient care across departments.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years in instrument processing, and certification through CBSPD, IAHCSMM or HSPA.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years instrument processing experience required.
• CBSPD, HSPA or IAHCSMM certification.

General Summary

• Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years instrument processing experience required
• CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification

Salary Range: Minimum 26.22/hour - Maximum 26.22/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
