Job summary

Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore is seeking a sterile processing technician to join the central sterile team. You will help maintain a steady supply of clean, sterile instruments for surgeries and critical care, supporting safe patient care across the hospital.

Responsibilities include inspecting, cleaning, assembling and sterilizing instrument sets, and operating steam and low-temperature sterilization equipment. A focus on quality and regulatory compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two years instrument processing experience required.
• Certification: CBSPD, HSPA, or IAHCSMM.

General Summary:

• Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years instrument processing experience required
• CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management) certification

Salary Range: Minimum 26.22/hour - Maximum 26.22/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
