Job summary

The Central Processing Technician II at BMCHS performs decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of medical supplies. The role requires CRCST or CSPDT certification, a high school diploma, and at least one year of related experience. Strong English communication and data entry skills are needed.

The technician will manage case carts, inventory, and par levels for OR and labor and delivery, and may train junior staff. Nights and every 3rd weekend rotation apply.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to speak, read, write, and communicate in English effectively.
• Ability to interpret and use medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Ability to access and enter computerized data and information.
• Organizational skills to effectively set priorities and complete assigned work.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of medical/surgical supplies.
• Care, handling, disassembly and re-assembly of equipment and surgical instrumentation.
• Maintain case cart/inventory management, ordering of supplies, and par levels for OR and L&D.
• Delivery, retrieval, decontamination, and re-assembly of patient equipment; training junior techs.
• On-call rotation to cover nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
