Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is hiring a Sterile Processing Tech II on a part-time, rotating shift basis. This role coordinates instrument sets, prepares case carts, and maintains sterilization workflows for the Operating Room and ancillary departments.

The ideal candidate will have CRCST or CSPDT certification and at least 1 year of sterile processing experience in healthcare. Excellent communication with physicians and nurses is essential, along with adherence to sterilization procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active CRCST certification through HSPA or CSPDT certification through CBSPD required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in sterile processing in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Build and coordinate instruments and case carts between the Operating Room, Ancillary departments and Sterile Processing.
• Coordinate case carts and add-ons; serve as contact person in Sterile Processing for each service in the OR.
• Have direct contact with physicians, nurses, and scrub techs.
• Clean, decontaminate, prepare, assemble and sterilize surgical instrumentation and related equipment.
