Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is hiring a Sterile Processing Tech II on a part-time, rotating shift. You will build and coordinate instruments and case carts between the Operating Room, ancillary departments, and Sterile Processing.

You’ll maintain contact with physicians, nurses, and scrub techs, clean, decontaminate, prepare, assemble, and sterilize surgical instrumentation, and hold CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Active CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in sterile processing in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Build and coordinate instruments and case carts between the OR, ancillary departments and Sterile Processing.
• Coordinate case carts and add-ons; serve as contact person in Sterile Processing for each service in the OR.
• Direct contact with physicians, nurses and scrub techs; maintain clear communication.
• Clean, decontaminate, prepare, assemble and sterilize surgical instrumentation and related equipment.
