Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa seeks a part-time Sterile Processing Technician to furnish sterile and non-sterile supplies and services. You will decontaminate, assemble instruments, sterilize equipment, and ensure proper storage while adhering to safety and infection control policies.

The role includes weekend and holiday rotation and requires English proficiency with prior experience in handling surgical instruments and assisting in patient care.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate with patients and staff.
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with surgical instruments and assisting in patient care preferred.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates dirty equipment and supplies.
• Prepares non-sterile portable equipment and supplies for use.
• Instrument assembly: inspects and assembles instruments per Pick card.
• Distributes and stores sterile supplies.
• Sterilization of equipment: loads/unloads cart and stores items properly.
• Follows safety, infection control and colleague health policies.
