Job summary

Advocate Health's Sterile Processing Services at Lutheran General Hospital is seeking a full-time SPD Tech I to assemble, decontaminate and inspect surgical instruments, following established procedures and ensuring readiness for use across all departments. The role requires a high school diploma and about 2 years of SPD experience, with strong communication and technical skills.

The schedule includes 11p-7:30am shifts and rotational weekends/holidays, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years SPD experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assembles instruments and sets according to lists.
• Maintains clean, organized SPD work area.
• Performs decontamination and follows PPE protocols.
• Reports equipment issues and coordinates with Engineering/Biomed.
• Sets up decontamination equipment and ensures workflow.
• Acts as liaison between SPD and other departments.
• Precepts and trains new technicians.
