Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Sterile Processing Technician 2 to clean, sterilize, process and distribute patient equipment. You may mentor Sterile Processing Technician 1 staff and ensure rooms are prepared with the right instruments for procedures.

Responsibilities include inventory management, adhering to safety and infection control guidelines, and sharing skills with the team through in-service trainings for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year in Sterile Processing.
• Certifications: CBSPD, CRCST, CSPDT or CST must be held.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange rooms with instruments, equipment and supplies as needed.
• Clean and sterilize instruments per guidelines and operate sterilization equipment.
• Manage inventory: order, replenish and distribute instruments and reusable equipment.
• Follow safety, infection control and environmental standards in patient care areas.
• Mentor and train Sterile Processing staff, and assist with onboarding entry-level staff.
