Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Sterile Processing Technician 2 to join our hospital team. The role involves cleaning, sterilizing, processing, arranging, and distributing patient equipment across departments, with mentoring duties for junior staff.

Candidates should have a HS Diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience, and possession of CBSPD/CRCST/CSPDT/CST certifications, plus familiarity with instrument sterilization and safety standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing or related experience.
• Certification in CBSPD, CRCST, CSPDT, or CST required.
• Familiarity with instrument sterilization and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange rooms with instruments, equipment, trays and supplies.
• Clean instruments and equipment using approved detergents and disinfectants; operate sterilization equipment.
• Manage inventory: order, replenish and distribute instruments and reusable medical equipment.
• Follow safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines to protect patient care.
• Mentor entry-level Sterile Processing staff and share skills with the team.
