Advocate Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of surgical instruments in a high-paced hospital setting. The role requires proficiency across steam, gas plasma, EtO sterilization and adherence to infection prevention standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 4 years of experience, CSPDT or CRCST certification, and may benefit from membership in a central sterile processing organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years experience required.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
• Membership in a professional central/sterile processing organization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of instruments.
• Operate high/low temp sterilization methods (steam, gas plasma, EtO, liquid chemicals).
• Identify and report malfunctions and alarms.
• Perform efficacy and quality testing for processes and equipment.
• Maintain proper handling and transport of sterile items.
