Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to assemble and sterilize surgical instruments, restock supply carts, and support the SPD with decontamination and instrument processing. The role requires CRCST or CSPDT certification and at least two years of Sterile Processing experience.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two years of experience in Sterile Processing required.
CRCST or CSPDT certification required.

Responsibilities

Assembles instrument trays for surgical procedures.
Transports and restocks surgical instrumentation within surgical suites and SPD.
Receives, sorts, cleans, and decontaminates soiled instruments and logs items.
Operates cleaning/decontamination equipment such as washers and reprocessors.
Inspects, packages, and sterilizes instruments per guidelines.
Programs and monitors sterilizers to ensure safe operation.
Manages telephone communications and directs inquiries to supervisors.
Provides leadership in the absence of senior staff and coordinates daily operations.
Addresses customer requests and completes shift reports to maintain workflow.
