Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II for 1.0 FTE evening shift. The role supports the Sterile Processing Department in decontamination, assembly, sterilization and storage of patient care instrumentation and supplies, with potential relief of the Lead Tech as needed.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and at least two years of related experience, plus knowledge of surgical instruments and processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of related work experience are required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification must be obtained within 180 days.
• Knowledge of sterilization, instrument processing and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training of new staff.
• Maintain inventory and ensure prudent resource use.
• Follow safety, infection prevention, and policy guidelines.
• Maintain professional behavior and appearance.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and committees.
• Perform decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of instruments.
