Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of OR devices.

This role trains as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I and reports to Sterile Processing leadership. A CSPDT or CRCST credential is required, along with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of sterile processing experience or completion of a qualified, nationally recognized, sterile processing course.
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Required Certification/License/Registry: CSPDT credential or CRCST credential from CBSPD/IAHCSMM/HSPA.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize reusable Operating Room (O.R.) medical devices.
• Trains and serves as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I, when needed.
• Reports To: Manager/Sterile Processing, Supervisor/Sterile Processing, or Sterile Processing Educator.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)

Required Experience:

• Six (6) months of sterile processing (or other relevant) experience or the successful completion of a qualified, nationally recognized, sterile processing course.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credential from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD), or the Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) credential from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
