Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This role involves cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling and sterilizing reusable operating room devices in a fast-paced hospital environment.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, plus 6 months of sterile processing experience or completion of a recognized sterile processing course. CSPDT or CRCST certification is required to apply.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of sterile processing experience or completion of a qualified, nationally recognized sterile processing course.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize reusable OR medical devices.
• Train and serve as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I when needed.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

• Certified sterile processing technician.
• Responsible for, cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing reusable Operating Room (O.R.) medical devices.
• Trains and serves as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I, when needed.

Reports To:

• Manager/Sterile Processing, Supervisor/Sterile Processing, or Sterile Processing Educator.

Supervises:

• None

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)

Required Experience:

• Six (6) months of sterile processing (or other relevant) experience or the successful completion of a qualified, nationally recognized, sterile processing course.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credential from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD), or the Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) credential from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
