Job summary

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our sterile processing team in Tallahassee, FL. You will be responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing reusable OR devices, and supporting quality standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 6 months of sterile processing experience or completion of a recognized training program, and CSPDT or

• Six (6) months of sterile processing experience or the successful completion of a qualified, nationally recognized sterile processing course.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credential or CRCST credential from CBSPD/IAHCSMM/HSPA.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize reusable operating room devices.
• Train and serve as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I when needed.
• Oversee proper handling of sterile instruments and compliance with safety standards.

• Certified sterile processing technician.
• Responsible for, cleaning, decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing reusable Operating Room (O.R.) medical devices.
• Trains and serves as a preceptor for Sterile Processing Technicians I, when needed.

Reports To :

• Manager/Sterile Processing, Supervisor/Sterile Processing, or Sterile Processing Educator.

• None

What You’ll Need To Apply Required Education:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)

Required Experience:

• Six (6) months of sterile processing (or other relevant) experience or the successful completion of a qualified, nationally recognized, sterile processing course.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) credential from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD), or the Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) credential from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM), or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA).
