Job summary

Johns Hopkins Ambulatory Surgery Centers, part of Johns Hopkins Medicine in the Baltimore area, seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support instrument processing and sterilization duties.

Responsibilities include inspecting, cleaning, assembling and sterilizing instrument sets and operating steam and low-temperature sterilization equipment. Requires CSPDT or CRCST certification or equivalent and a high school diploma; day shift 7 am–3:30 pm; sign-on bonus of $3,000.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum two years instrument processing experience in all areas including sterilization and set assembly.
• Certification: CSPDT (CBSPD) OR CRCST (HSPA) from approved boards.

General Summary:

• Inspects, cleans, assembles and sterilizes surgical instrument sets. Operates cleaning and sterilization equipment in order to clean instruments and supplies. Prepare supplies and equipment for steam sterilization and low temperature sterilization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years instrument processing experience required at a proficient level in all areas to include sterilization and set assembly
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) OR Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)

Shift:

Day Shift (7 am - 3:30 pm)

Salary Range: Minimum 21.88/hour - Maximum 36.13/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
