Medical University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to perform decontamination, cleaning, preparation, and sterilization of instruments in accordance with department policies and regulatory requirements.
Under general supervision, you will support patient safety by following safety procedures, maintaining clean work areas, and documenting activities as required.
The Sterile Processing Technician reports to the Manager of Sterile Processing. Under general supervision, the technician is responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instruments in compliance with medical center policies and procedures, state, local and federal requirements.
Ability to stand for long periods; ability to walk, climb stairs, and work in confined spaces; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted; ability to perform repetitive motions; vision, hearing, and tactile requirements as described by job standards.
