Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate instruments and assemble instrument sets for terminal sterilization. The role requires 24 hours per week across three shifts (0.6 FTE) with a pay range of $20.80–$31.20 per hour at the Aurora West Allis Medical Center.

The position emphasizes independent function, adherence to procedures, and safe handling of infectious waste.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1 year experience preferred, but not required.
• Certified Central Service Tech preferred, but not required.
• Heavy lifting required: 50 to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination of instruments and equipment.
• Assembly/packaging/wrapping for terminal sterilization.
• Operate sterilizers and monitor cycles; ensure proper labeling and load documentation.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and report equipment issues.
• Assist with inventory, storage, and distribution of sterile items.
• Support quality improvement activities within the department.
