Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure availability of cleaned, prepared, and sterilized instruments for surgical procedures. You will disassemble, clean, inspect, package, and reassemble trays, and support operation suites and satellite centers.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years sterile processing experience preferred, and certifications such as CRCST/C CSPDT/ CBSPD are desirable.

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs general and specialized instrument care duties.
• Provides supplies for surgical procedures.
• Disassembles and cleans critical reusable medical equipment per MIFU.
• Inspects, packages, and reassembles instruments and trays.
• Performs various sterilization techniques per SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains record keeping and documentation per SOPs.
