Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Sterile Processing cross-trained technician to ensure the availability of cleaned, prepared, and sterilized equipment for surgical procedures. You will support clinical staff and assist in instrument care, disinfection, and sterile processing across facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma and preferred 2 years of sterile processing experience or completion of an accepted course.

Responsibilities

• Performs general and specialized instrument care duties.
• Provides supplies for surgical procedures.
• Cleans and disassembles reusable medical equipment per MIFU.
• Inspects, packages, and reassembles instruments and trays.
• Performs sterilization techniques per Manufacturer's Instructions For Use.
• Maintains records and documents per SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Ensures privacy and respectful communication with patients.
• Performs other related duties as required.
