Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our perioperative team. You will maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection and sterilization of surgical instruments, ensuring timely availability.

The role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and equipment, helps maintain workflow, and delivers reliable, high-quality service to patients and teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech program required.
• In lieu of program, prior experience as Central Service or Surgical Tech required.
• Prior experience in Central Sterile or Surgical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Perform sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborate with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, and equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assist in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Prior Central Service or Surgical Tech experience
