Job summary

Brown University Health in Fall River, MA is seeking a Sterile Processing/CPD Technician to support Morton Hospital and satellite customers. The role handles sterilization, decontamination, and inventory management for surgical sets, equipment, endoscopy and linen.

You will monitor SPD stock levels, assemble case carts, restock patient care carts and ensure compliance with AAMI/JCAHO guidelines. Schedule may include evenings/weekends as needed; strong English and basic IT skills preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as Sterile Processing/CPD Tech.
• Proficient with Meditech, MS Word and MS Excel.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization and instrument handling.
• Ability to operate all sterilization equipment.
• Ability to read, write and speak English clearly.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Active CRCST certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs processing techniques per AAMI and JCAHO standards and infection control guidelines.
• Decontaminates surgical instruments, endoscopes and equipment.
• Prepares, assembles and packages using rigid containers, peel pouches and wraps.
• Applies proper HLD and sterilization methods for items.
• Inspects items for serviceability and function.
• Reorders, stores and distributes SPD items; restocks Case Carts and Patient Care Carts.
• Attends mandatory in-services and departmental meetings; participates in quality improvement.
• Maintains policies and procedures; ensures safety and teamwork.
