Job summary

Ascension Health invites applications for a Sterile Processing role at Ascension St. Vincent Orthopedic Hospital in Newburgh, IN. The full-time position runs Mon-Fri from 3pm to 11:30pm with no weekends, supporting a busy surgical services environment.

You will inspect and assemble instrument sets, maintain high standards of infection control, and ensure accurate tracking and readiness for procedures. Training and credentials in sterile processing are preferred; hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; professional licensure can substitute.
• Sterile processing credentials preferred (HSPA, CBSPD).
• Experience in sterile processing and infection control is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and evaluate complex instrument sets for OR readiness.
• Process soiled instruments and operate sterilization equipment per protocols.
• Organize instrument sets using tracking systems and count sheets.
• Manage inventory to build complete case carts and support schedules.
• Contribute to quality assurance through audits and process improvement.
