Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure all instruments are cleaned, sterilized and ready for procedures. Your attention to safety and detail helps protect patients and supports a high-quality surgical environment.

You will work 4:00pm–12:30am, with CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 2 years of hire. High school diploma or GED is needed, and no travel or prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification: CRCST or CSPDT must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues to ensure safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials and maintaining a clean work area.
• Collaborating with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards

• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care

• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs

• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized

• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

Shift Hours 4:00pm-12:30am

• High School Graduate / GED

• (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
