Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support St. Mary’s Hospital—Superior in Wisconsin. The role covers reprocessing surgical instruments and patient care equipment for operating rooms and nursing units, on 6:30a-3:00p, 7:30p-4:00p, or 8:00a-4:30p shifts, with no weekend or on-call rotations required.

Work involves standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and rigorous attention to cleanliness and sterilization. Training and PPE are provided; benefits apply after eligibility.

Qualifications

• No formal education requirements.
• Tech I requires CRCST certification within 2 years of hire.
• Tech II requires CRCST or CBSPD certification.
• Healthcare experience preferred; sterile processing experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Reprocess reusable surgical instruments and patient care equipment for surgery and nursing units.
• Ensure instruments are clean, sterilized, and available for staff.
• Handle required lifting, standing, and movement during shifts; follow PPE protocols.
