Job summary

Ohio County Healthcare seeks a Sterile Processing Technician in a hospital setting to prepare and assemble medical supplies, maintain sterile processing areas, and handle distribution of instruments.

Responsibilities include cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, and storing supplies, while following safety protocols and regulatory standards. Certification as CSPDT/CRCST/CIS is preferred, with at least a high school diploma and possible GED completion within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for all positions (may sign GED agreement to obtain within 6 months).
• CSPDT or CRCST certification preferred; CIS certification also preferred.
• One-year sterile processing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment.
• Maintain sterile processing areas and distribute surgical supplies and equipment as needed.
• Follow established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, packaging, sterilizing and storing supplies and equipment.
• Adhere to standard precautions and wear PPE; operate equipment safely per manufacturer instructions.
• Monitor and document results of sterilization indicators and prepare surgical case carts as needed.
