Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Florida seeks a Central Service Technician to support the operating room team and sterile processing areas. Responsibilities include decontamination, packaging, and sterilization of instruments, with collaboration across the sterile core and OR staff.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and either one year of instrumentation experience or completion of a Central Service vocational program with full certification. Certification within one year is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year instrument experience OR completion of a Central Service vocational program with full certification.
• Central Service certification required within one year of hire.
• One year instrument experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge and strong written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage and distribution of reusable instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Cleaning, packaging and re-processing of re-usable surgical equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintaining inventory and storage of processed supplies.
• Meeting the needs of the surgical team through support of activities in the sterile core.
