Job summary

SIPS is hiring Sterile Processing Technicians in Chicago to support surgical and clinical operations. You will retrieve contaminated supplies, sterilize and package them for procedures, and maintain accurate inventory and records in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

The role requires physical stamina, reliability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Must understand medical terminology to follow written instructions and records.

Responsibilities

• Collect used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
• Clean and decontaminate supplies, operate decontamination equipment.
• Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
• Monitor and operate sterilization equipment.
• Inspect supplies to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization.
• Test and report issues with sterilization equipment.
• Sterilize, pack, and organize equipment for surgeries and exams.
• Deliver equipment and instruments for procedures.
• Maintain records of sterilization procedures and inventory.
• Manage inventory, reorder supplies, and check expiration dates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
