Job summary

Virtua Health in Camden, NJ is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support infection control by preparing, cleaning and distributing sterile instruments for operating rooms, labor and delivery, and related areas.

You will handle decontamination, sterilization, inventory, training of new hires, and transport of soiled and sterile equipment, with hourly pay range $21.85–$32.83 and full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• CRCST/CBSPD certification required within 6 months of employment.
• CRCST certification or CER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, inspects and assembles surgical instruments, powered surgical equipment, and endoscopes into instrument trays or packages for sterilization.
• Collects, cleans, disinfects patient care equipment and surgical instruments from clinical units and OR areas.
• Assists in orientation and training of new hires.
• Operates, monitors and documents results of decontamination and sterilization equipment.
• Delivers patient care equipment, inventories carts and replenishes supplies for the department and OR Case Cart System.
• Transports soiled and sterile surgical instrumentation between facilities.
