Job summary

Forest Surgery Center is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our outpatient surgical team. You will decontaminate, clean, and disinfect instruments and equipment, operate autoclaves and other sterilizers, and assemble trays according to procedure and surgeon requirements.

You will maintain accurate sterilization records, monitor inventory, and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely delivery while upholding all infection control and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a sterile processing technician training program preferred.
  • Certification (CBSPD or HSPA/IAHCSMM) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers.
  • Assemble and inspect instrument trays and surgical sets based on procedure and surgeon requirements.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our dedicated team at our Forest Surgery Center. In this vital role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment to support a safe and efficient surgical environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality outpatient surgical care in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols

Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers

Assemble and inspect instrument trays and surgical sets based on procedure and surgeon requirements

Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance

Ensure inventory levels of sterile supplies are maintained and properly rotated

Collaborate with clinical and surgical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments
