Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. Forest Surgery Center is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our dedicated team. You will clean, sterilize, assemble, and distribute instruments to support a safe outpatient surgical environment.

Responsibilities include decontamination, sterilization, tray assembly, and accurate recordkeeping while adhering to OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards. This fast-paced, team-oriented role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a sterile processing technician training program preferred.
  • Certification in CBSPD or HSPA/IAHCSMM preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete documentation.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our dedicated team at our Forest Surgery Center. In this vital role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment to support a safe and efficient surgical environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality outpatient surgical care in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.


Key Responsibilities


  • Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols

  • Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers

  • Assemble and inspect instrument trays and surgical sets based on procedure and surgeon requirements

  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance

  • Ensure inventory levels of sterile supplies are maintained and properly rotated

  • Collaborate with clinical and surgical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments

  • Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN)
