Job summary

Surgery Partners, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our Forest Surgery Center in California. You will clean, sterilize, assemble, and distribute surgical instruments to support a safe operating room environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, managing inventory, and collaborating with surgical teams while adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a sterile processing technician training program preferred.
  • Certification (CBSPD or HSPA/IAHCSMM) preferred.

  • Operate autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers.
  • Assemble and inspect instrument trays and sets per procedure.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure timely delivery.
  • Follow OSHA, CDC, AAMI, and AORN infection control standards.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our dedicated team at our Forest Surgery Center. In this vital role, you will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment to support a safe and efficient surgical environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality outpatient surgical care in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols

Operate sterilization equipment including autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers

Assemble and inspect instrument trays and surgical sets based on procedure and surgeon requirements

Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance

Ensure inventory levels of sterile supplies are maintained and properly rotated

Collaborate with clinical and surgical staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments

Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory standards (OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Completion of a sterile processing technician training program preferred

Certification (CBSPD or HSPA/IAHCSMM) preferred

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols

Basic computer skills and ability to accurately complete documentation

Working Conditions:

Exposure to biohazardous materials and sterilization chemicals

Frequent standing, lifting, and repetitive motion

Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or rotating shifts depending on case volume
