Job summary

USPI OrthoArizona Surgery Center Gilbert is hiring a PRN Sterile Processing Technician. The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies for surgery cases in a fast paced ASC environment. Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED, computer skills, and 2+ years of Sterile Processing experience.

Job Summary:
  • The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgical team.
  • Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.

Required Skills:
  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Must have 2+ years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician.
  • Experience with all types of sterilizers.
  • Knows operating room instrumentation.
  • Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
  • Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
  • Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
  • Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
