Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo, MD is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the Central Sterile Processing Department, ensuring instruments are decontaminated, processed, sterilized, assembled, and ready for patient care.

The ideal candidate will hold CRCST certification, have 3-5 years of sterile processing experience, and demonstrate strong leadership, staff coaching, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required.
• Leadership or supervisory experience in Central Sterile Processing preferred.
• 3-5 years of Central Sterile Processing experience required.
• Knowledge of infection control and regulatory standards.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily Central Sterile Processing operations and staff assignments.
• Oversee decontamination, cleaning, processing, sterilization, packaging, and preparation of instruments.
• Monitor sterilization processes and documentation.
• Ensure proper tray assembly and timely distribution of sterile instrumentation.
• Assist with staffing, scheduling, and workflow planning.
• Maintain inventory and support cost-effective utilization of supplies.
• Coach and mentor staff development and ongoing education.
• Support quality and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
