Job summary

Alameda Health System seeks a Supervisor of Sterile Processing to oversee daily unit operations under the Sterile Processing Manager. You will supervise staff, ensure timely delivery of instruments, and maintain safety and quality standards across decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution.

The role requires CRCST certification and five years of Sterile Processing Technician experience, with two years in a supervisory setting preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years as a Sterile Processing Technician.
• CRCST certification required.
• Two years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and effective supervision to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments.
• Manages decontamination, sterilization, assembly and distribution of instruments and equipment.
• Schedules and coordinates departmental training; manages work programs; oversees on‑job training.
• Ensures safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, and sterilization; 24-hour accountability for all personnel activities.
• Develops and maintains standards for instrument/ Equipment quality and compliance with safety standards; initiates improvements when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
