Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies used across the hospital and clinics. The role supports performance improvement projects and departmental initiatives as needed.

Requirements include completion of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program, CRCST/CSPDT certification, and flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience.
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology.
• Current full CRCST or CSPDT certification. Must maintain certification by taking CEUs and renewing certification.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process and sterilize supplies and equipment for the department's use throughout the hospital and outlying clinics.
• Participate in special projects and department-wide or medical center-wide performance improvement initiatives as requested.
