Job summary

UCI Health in Irvine seeks a Central Sterile Tech to decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment used throughout the hospital and clinics. The role also handles charging, billing and logging of services and daily biological testing while supporting performance improvement projects and floating to different campus locations as needed.

Excellent attention to infection control and the ability to work varied shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology or 18 months relevant Sterile Processing experience
• Required to float to all locations of UCI Health as needed
• Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment across hospital locations.
• Handle charging, billing and logging of service and OR patient charges.
• Perform daily biological testing.
• Float to all UCI Health locations as needed.
