Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, preparation/assembly, sterilization, and distribution of trays and sets under supervision.

The role requires HSPA/CBSPD certification, 2 years of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist experience, and the ability to serve as a resource and preceptor for staff. Day shift with Mon-Fri work days.

Qualifications

• Certification from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) is required.
• 2 years of Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist experience including relevant school curriculum.
• CER or CIS certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes all job functions of a SPD Technician.
• Serves as a resource to other team members on processing and assembly of trays for designated service lines.
• Back up for supervisor/team lead in their absence as requested.
• Provides in-services on instruments and trays for assigned service (minimum 2 staff).
• Serves as a preceptor for new staff members and participates in orientation and competency checks.
• Assists with orientation and annual competency checks.
• Acts as a resource to the OR team for the assigned service.
