Job summary

UMC Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to organize, clean, sterilize, store, and distribute equipment and instruments in the SPD. Work Sundays to Wednesdays on 10-hour shifts in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include processing and packaging instruments, loading items for sterilization, tracking equipment, and operating the Detergent Management System. Candidates with SD processing experience and computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in Sterile Processing or Instrumentation helpful.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; ability to learn hospital systems (Cerner, IDX).

Responsibilities

• Process and package instruments and instrument sets for surgeries.
• Package and load items for sterilization.
• Store, issue, and track equipment across departments.
• Operate, monitor, and exchange the Detergent Management System.
• Operate SPD equipment safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve sterilizer issues.
• Test equipment and document following sterility guidelines.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
