Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA, is seeking an SPD Tech I/II to perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, HLD/sterilization, and storage of instruments across the network. You'll work under Sterile Processing leadership, ensuring infection control and safe, organized workflows.

Responsibilities include decontamination, inspection, packaging, and storage tasks with a focus on safety and efficiency; candidate should have basic computer skills and be willing to obtain certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of, or enrollment in an accredited Central Sterile Processing Technician program.
• Certification required within one year of employment; failure to obtain leads to termination.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, inspection/assembly, sterilization/HLD, and sterile storage of instruments and devices.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspace throughout all steps.
• Record and route items per IFUs and safety standards; monitor equipment performance.
