Job summary

Wellstar Health System in the United States is seeking a Sterile Processing professional to implement the department's Continuous Improvement program across one or more shifts. The role focuses on training instrument techs, auditing quality and compliance with TJC and AAMI standards, and orienting new hires while supporting process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years sterile processing or related field experience with knowledge of instrument sterilization techniques, policies and procedures, purchasing, and surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to set priorities with evidence of completion.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• Highly organized with the ability to set priorities and adjust to daily demands.
• Must be self-directed and motivated with strong customer service skills.
• Must understand, speak and write English well to communicate with the surgical services team.

Responsibilities

• Pre cleaning and transport of soiled instruments.
• Compliance of disinfection and decontamination processes.
• Proper sterilization practices including documentation, loading and unloading.
• IUSS and load recall reprocessing and reporting.
• HLD reprocessing and documentation.
• Review of equipment, maintenance, temp and humidity logs/requirements.
• Provide training and orientation on process improvement initiatives and standards.
