Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment.
• Ability to handle infectious waste and follow Standard Precautions.
• Ability to operate sterilization equipment and maintain safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates sterilization equipment, prepares, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and supplies.
• Cares for instruments including selecting cleaning agents and lubricants.
• Peel-packs and wraps instruments, inspects for cleanliness and readiness.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to FSC policies and quality standards.
• Cleans, sets up, sterilizes and distributes instruments on each shift.
• Handles and disposes of infectious waste appropriately.
• Follows Standard Precautions with protective barriers as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
