Job summary

The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Manager to lead our SPD operations across two campuses and drive operational excellence.

You will oversee a 24/7 operation, partner with OR leadership and clinical teams, ensure instrument delivery, uphold quality and regulatory standards, and develop a high-performing, engaged workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• CRCST certification required at time of hire.
• Master's degree preferred in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SPD operations across two campuses in a 24/7 environment.
• Collaborate with Operating Room leadership, physicians, and clinical partners to ensure delivery of sterile instruments and equipment.
• Drive quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and efficiency improvements.
• Lead, develop, and engage a high-performing SPD team.
• Foster partnerships with clinical teams to support safe, high-quality patient care.
