Job summary

AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC seeks a Sterile Processing Lead to plan, implement, and oversee sterilization policies and quality assurance for surgical instrumentation. You will maintain records, supervise staff, and advise on material availability to support patient care.

The role requires knowledge of AAMI/IAHCSMM standards, strong leadership, and ability to coordinate with OR teams; inpatient operations and regulatory compliance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English effectively to carry out job requirements.
• Knowledge of AAMI, IAHCSMM, OSHA, TJC, HFAP, AORN, and infection prevention standards.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and medical supplies.
• Ability to manage stresses and handle challenging situations.
• Computer skills with Word and Excel.
• Knowledge or experience with instrument tracking systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and manages policies and quality assurance programs related to sterilization of instruments.
• Maintains record-keeping for processing instruments, trays, and materials output.
• Provides leadership to supervisors, coordinators, and technicians.
• Serves as a resource on sterilization processes to OR staff and committees.
• Maintains liaison with OR staff, physicians, nurses, and vendors.
• Ensures compliance with state and local regulations.
• Reviews and improves standards; participates in committees.
• Promotes AdventHealth vision and values in leadership roles.
• Supports system hospitals to enhance satisfaction and reduce costs.
• Evaluates new products and equipment through committee membership.
