Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a Sterile Processing Manager to plan, implement, and oversee policies, procedures, and quality programs for sterilization of instruments.

Lead supervisors and technicians, maintain records, liaise with OR staff, and ensure compliance with AAMI, IAHCSMM, OSHA, and other standards.

This full-time role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a willingness to work nights and weekends to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of AAMI, IAHCSMM, OSHA, TJC, HFAP, AORN standards.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and medical supplies including anesthesia-related items.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with OR Circulator and knowledge in multiple specialties preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and manages policies, procedures, competencies, educational activities, and quality assurance programs related to sterile processing of reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintains record-keeping systems for processing instruments, trays, and quality assurance data.
• Provides leadership to supervisors, coordinators, and technicians and offers consultation on administrative issues.
• Serves as a resource to surgical services and hospital committees on sterilization processes and procedural changes.
• Establishes liaison with OR staff, physicians, and nurses to advise on materials and patient care procedures.
• Maintains liaison with local, regional, and national sterile processing providers and regulators to stay current on trends and regulations.
