The position emphasizes implementing efficient procedures, supervising staff, and collaborating with hospital departments to optimize processing workflows and instrument tracking.

Qualifications

• Two years of occupationally specific education or an associate's degree required.
• Area of study: Surgical Technology, Central Processing or related field.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of policies for processing and handling of medical supplies and equipment.
• Develop and implement new sterilization methods as needed.
• Establish department goals and organizational structure to support functions.
• Monitor inventory, establish par levels, and initiate purchases as needed.
• Maintain systems for tracking and distribution of processed instruments and educate staff on procedures.
