Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Sterile Processing Lead to oversee instrument and equipment management across all surgical specialties. The role includes coordinating central sterile processing activities, mentoring staff, and managing vendor room and loaner tray programs.

The ideal candidate has two years of sterile processing or surgical technologist experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and basic Windows computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience as sterile processing technician or surgical technologist preferred.
• Must demonstrate organization and communication skills and be able to anticipate instrument needs for scheduled cases.
• Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.

Responsibilities

• Aid, promotes, and facilitates surgical instruments/equipment across all specialties.
• Coordinate and monitor activities within central sterile processing to ensure efficient operations.
• Act as liaison between central sterile processing and other departments.
• Serve as preceptor and mentor for central sterile processing staff.
• Manage vendor room and loaner tray program.

Education

High school education or equivalent

CRCST certification within timeframe
