Job summary

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center seeks a Sterile Processing Supervisor to oversee the sterilization and reprocessing of surgical instruments. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with standards, and coordinate daily sterilization activities with hospital teams.

The role requires a CBSPD or CST certification within one year of hire and at least two years of sterile processing experience. Full-time, rotating shift, on-site in Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in sterile processing.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CBSPD or CST certification within one year of hire.
• Supervise staff and ensure compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, assemble, and package surgical instrument trays and supplies.
• Sterilize, distribute, transport, decontaminate, and store surgical instrument trays and supplies.
• Supervise staff participating in the sterilization process, ensuring quality and safety.
• Coordinate with interdepartmental teams to support the surgery schedule.
