Job summary

SCA Health is seeking an Instrument Technologist to join the Sterile Processing Department at a Multi-Specialty Surgery Center. The role supports safe instrument handling, sterilization workflows, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities include following protocols, reporting unsafe conditions, inventory management, and providing clear hand-offs within the team. BCLS certification and instrument processing credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding of sterilization and high-level disinfection technologies.
• Prior experience in instrument processing preferred.
• Certification in instrument processing preferred.
• Successful completion of BCLS course within 90 days or current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and machinery and report unsafe situations.
• Follow established protocols for cleaning, decontaminating, preparing, packaging, disinfecting or sterilizing supplies and equipment.
• Inventory, receive, and restock materials for sterile processing.
• Maintain patient privacy and comply with regulatory standards.
• Provide hand-off reports to teammates with accuracy and clarity.
