Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Clerk (Instrument Processing Technician) to maintain instruments and equipment for surgical cases. You will prepare instrumentation, ensure sterility, and support inventory management under clinical leadership.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of sterilization/disinfection, and prior instrument processing experience. BCLS certification must be completed within 90 days of employment or already held.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Understanding of sterilization and high-level disinfection technologies.
• Prior experience in instrument processing preferred.
• Prior experience as a surgical technologist/procedure technologist preferred.
• Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains instruments and equipment in an optimal fashion.
• Prepares instrumentation, equipment, and sterile supplies for the surgical patient.
• Functions as an Instrument Processing Technician under the direction of the Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse.
• Performs sterilization and disinfection using industry-standard procedures.
• Maintains instrument processing area/department.”
• Supports cross-functional duties such as purchasing supplies and inventory management.
